There are myriad individuals within the surf community, some are lucky enough to find a career doing what they love, others fade into the shadows. But we all have a story to tell. This series aims at shining a spotlight on those of whom might be less celebrated, but are no less worthy of telling their story.

Welcome to 'Faces of Howie Shapes'.

Episode 1 features Avalon Beach surfer and Barrenjoey High School teacher Zac Meatchem.

Zac talks about his junior surfing years and how he has long struggled to find equipment to match his 6'8" stature. He also reveals an exciting new program that he will be heading up for his students at Barrenjoey.
